Get ready to sweat for a great cause this summer, because our second annual Virtual 10K Run happens wherever you are from August 3-7!
We plan to have over 500 participants running with us during the 5-day event in order to support global poverty alleviation programs, with 100% of run registration fees funding microcredit loans for the world’s poorest entrepreneurs.
When you register for this year’s Virtual 10K, you’ll automatically receive an entry into a sweepstakes to win prizes from our sponsors. Read on for more about how some of our sponsors are getting their teams involved with this year’s run.
Our team welcomes nuun hydration as a member of the $10,000 Fund and as a new sponsor of this year’s Virtual 10K Run.
“Our mission at nuun is simple in that ‘we inspire everyone to move more,’” says Kevin Rutherford, CEO (Chief Eternal Optimist) at nuun hydration.
“The team at nuun is thrilled to partner with the positive change agents at Whole Planet Foundation, getting more people moving in the Virtual 10K Run, while giving back to help lift entrepreneurs out of poverty.”
Based in Austin, Texas, The Seaweed Bath Co. specializes in seaweed-infused solutions for face, hair, and body. Also new to Whole Planet Foundation’s $10,000 Fund this year, The Seaweed Bath Co. team is inspired to support entrepreneurs all around the world.
“The Seaweed Bath Co. got its start with the help of a Whole Foods Market Local Producer Loan, and in the spirit of paying it forward and helping other entrepreneurs, we are proud to be members of Whole Planet Foundation’s $10,000 Fund,” says Co-Founder Allison Grossman.
“Health and wellness are very important to The Seaweed Bath Co. team, and we enjoy exercising together. The Virtual 10K Run provides the perfect opportunity to get the entire team involved.”

Vital Farms saw the opportunity to do something more than sell eggs to a few stores – with a little push and the help of a Whole Foods Market Southwest region Local Producer Loan, Vital could turn a backyard pastime into a transformational business. Vital Farms now supports Whole Planet Foundation and its efforts on behalf of economic partnership in developing markets around the world in the same way they were helped!
“We share these values wholeheartedly,” says Shannon Van Dyck, Director of Business Development for Vital Farms. “Our version is partnering with small family farms across the country and prioritizing their sustainability, in keeping with our stakeholder model.”
Justin’s is a long-time supporter of Whole Planet Foundation’s mission to fund global entrepreneurship through our networks of microfinance partners around the globe.
“In 2007, Justin’s was the first recipient of a Whole Foods Market Local Producer Loan in the Rocky Mountain Region. In the spirit of entrepreneurship and paying it forward, Justin’s now donates a microloan-a-month to an entrepreneur to help grow their businesses,” says Justin Gold, Founder of Justin’s.
“We’re also proud to be a member of Whole Planet Foundation’s $10,000 Fund and partner with them for the Virtual 10K Run.”
Join our team, our supporters, and sponsors to run, walk, skip, or jump a 10K that happens on your time, wherever you live, work, or play. $25 early registration closes July 14 and is equal to an average first loan from our microfinance partner in Haiti.
