Whole Planet Foundation has partnered with nearly 400 Whole Foods Market suppliers to raise $5.1 million since our inception in 2005, and this month, we are excited to tell you about our first ever wine partnership! ONEHOPE Wine is blazing the trail to alleviate poverty by donating $.50 per bottle of their Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon sold in Whole Foods Market stores in September and October, with the goal of funding approximately 200 microloans to help alleviate poverty in the developing world.
Produced in partnership with Rob Mondavi, Jr., ONEHOPE’s award-winning wine portfolio makes an impact with every bottle sold by donating HALF of profits to partner causes, like Whole Planet Foundation. Started by a group of young social entrepreneurs, the motivation behind ONEHOPE Wine began as a personal mission to help a friend with her fight against cancer; it evolved into a thriving business that always remains focused on a basic but compelling principle: giving back is good business. The mission is to create a high quality wine that donates to worthy causes 24/7/365. No Caps. No End Dates. Ever.
This partnership will help raise funds to alleviate poverty so that microentrepreneurs like Anna, pictured here, are empowered to change their own lives by starting or expanding a home-based business. Anna used her microcredit loan of $150 to raise chickens for eggs and to support her roadside restaurant. Because of the success of her business, she is readying plans to open a side shop with basic goods to make the restaurant a one stop shop for food and shopping.
We hope you join us in celebrating ONEHOPE and their mission to help end world poverty. To learn more about the ONEHOPE team and their incredible efforts, check out this video below!
