Allegro Coffee Company, Back to Nature, Garden of Life, Ito En (Tea's Tea), Earth's Best, Naked Juice, Seventh Generation, Stacy's and Whole Foods Market support Whole Planet Foundation's mission with a pledge of $1.45 million to fund microlending programs.
Founding Members Allegro Coffee Company, Back to Nature, Balance Bar, the Hain Celestial Company (Celestial Seasonings, Earth's Best), Ito En, Naked Juice, New Chapter, Seventh Generation, Stacy's and Whole Foods Market donated $1.05 million to support microlending programs with Whole Planet Foundation during 2008-2010! 2009 new member Cascal joined this support with an additional $150,000 over the next three years, and 2011-2013 membership includes Allegro Coffee Company, Back to Nature, Earth's Best, Ito En, Naked Juice, Seventh Generation, Stacy's and Whole Foods Market. Garden of Life has joined the Alliance with a one-year commitment for 2012.

Since its inception in 2007, Whole Planet Foundation's Supplier Alliance for Microcredit, an alliance of natural food companies supporting the mission of microlending, has helped empower thousands of families with a chance to lift themselves out of poverty. Past and current valued partner companies include Allegro Coffee Company, Back to Nature, Balance Bar, Cascal, the Hain Celestial Group (Celestial Seasonings, Earth's Best), Garden of Life, Ito En (Tea's Tea), Naked Juice, New Chapter, Seventh Generation, Stacy's and Whole Foods Market who together have pledged over $1.45 million to support microentrepreneurs in the US and abroad. We hope to welcome additional members in 2012 and beyond.
One of our valued Supplier Alliance for Microcredit partners, Allegro Coffee Company, has been an essential ally to Whole Planet Foundation since its founding in 2005. Jeff Teter, President of Allegro, is on the Foundation's Board of Directors. In addition, his team consistently supports the Foundation by providing extensive product sourcing information, identifying field based producer communities often even identifying the individual coffee farmers.
This support is critical as our leadership mandates that our microlending projects are sited in communities where Whole Foods Market sources products. For over three years, Allegro has provided transparency to our producer communities to fulfill this mandate. We are honored to support microlending programs in many Allegro coffee growing regions including Guatemala, Nicaragua, Honduras, East Timor and Indonesia. We are grateful to Allegro Coffee Company for contributing to our mission, both financially and with guidance and advice.
