Sarita

Location: Nepal

Sarita runs a weaving business that employs three women in downtown Ilam, a small town surrounded by picturesque mountainside tea farms. Sarita is on her fourth loan cycle with WPF microfinance partner NULBSL in Nepal. She has grown from the entry level group loan (borrowing 30,000 NPR/$260 USD) to a small business loan (borrowing 150,000 NPR/$1300 USD).  Sarita and her employees sell their items in a cheerful, well-stocked shop that Whole Foods Market Team Member Volunteers visited in 2019. We also featured some of Sarita’s items in our 2020 Party with a Purpose Online Auction!
