Established in 1994, Support for Rural Advancement Society (“SUPPORT”) is a licensed Bangladeshi microfinance institution with a vision to alleviate poverty of rural communities and empower women in particular in socio-economic aspects. Their mission thus has been to support the un-banked non-urban entrepreneurs, especially women, who lack the ability to access formal finance. SUPPORT is a core member of theSTEPs.org, a licensed Association in Bangladesh comprised of member organizations with multi-disciplinary expertise working together to address a variety of social development challenges.
SUPPORT has 19 branches in 13 Districts of Bangladesh. Other programs and initiatives focus on expanding financial inclusion, financial literacy, business development services, advocacy for value chain development, capacity building, socio-economic and environmentally responsible initiatives like Afforestation and Distribution of Relief items following any natural disasters caused by climate change.
