FEATURED SCANBACK PROGRAM PARTNERS

Suja Juice

Suja Juice is an organic, raw, Non-GMO verified fruit and vegetable blend beverage and cleanse program. All
ingredients are gently cold pressed for the maximum yield of vitamins, minerals and enzymes, and each 16 ounce bottle contains approximately three pounds of organic produce. Once the cold pressing process is complete, the juice is High Pressure Processed (HPPd) to extend the shelf life by about a month. The HPP method gives Suja the ability to create a safe to drink, nutrient rich beverage without the use of heat or pasteurization.

Maintaining temperature is extremely important in producing a high quality juice. Temperature must be maintained at or below 40 degrees on a continual basis, so Suja and Whole Foods Market have been working together to ensure that from the time that Suja places the juice in the box until the time that it is placed in the cold case section by a Whole Foods Market Team Member, the temperature hasn't gone above 39 degrees. Suja has launched a TempTrips program that will randomly test one case from each pallet that it ships, and upon receipt by Whole Foods Market of the product, the Team Member will see that a temperature device is inside a particular box. For every TempTrip device that Suja receives back from Whole Foods Market, Suja will make a $25 donation to Whole Plant Foundation! Learn more: www.sujajuice.com

Café Spice

In celebration of Diwali, Café Spice donated 5% of all October 2011 and 2012 sales to Whole Planet Foundation, generating more than $65,000. With modest beginnings, Café Spice started in 2003 supplying one Whole Foods Market location at Columbus Circle.  Eight years later, enthusiastic support from Whole Foods Market, coupled by loyal customers, hungry for fresh, authentic global cuisine, helped spawn fantastic growth for Café Spice’s products, now found in more than 90 Whole Foods Market stores across the country.

“Upon learning about Whole Planet Foundation’s microlending program, we felt compelled to find a way for Café Spice to contribute,” said Payal Malhotra, Café Spice’s co-founder.  “As a minority-owned, entrepreneurial company we understand how access to credit can be critical to realizing one’s dreams.  Additionally, our business is in the preparation and supply of fresh, authentic global cuisine from regions of the world where poverty happens to be a very real issue for many people.  This personal connection further inspired us – we want to be a part of the solution to help break the cycle of poverty.”  Payal joined Whole Planet Foundation on a trip to India in September 2011, where she had the opportunity to meet microcredit clients and learn about their experiences and poverty alleviation firsthand.  Check out her blog about her amazing journey!
